This autumn there was another return to the Wicked Lady just outside of Wheathamstead.

The occasion saw the reappearance of the Walton family who had last visited the Wicked Lady in 2018.

However this was eclipsed by the Compton family who had not been seen at a Dungroamin event since the Cotswolds in 2000.

The men look reasonably content too.

The assistant manager, Lewis, was very helpful in checking that we were happy with where he had seated us and that everybody was served with the right food.

Brian got a bit of a shock when he paid for a couple of drinks, but he recovered sufficiently to drink his.

There was bit of a panic when the till system went down, leaving Lewis unable to take card payments. Fortunately he got it going again by the time we went to pay.

But overall the experience was better than last year.
