Osmington Mills, Near Weymouth, Dorset

The Dungroamin records came up with a blank for the letter that goes with this year. However we did find the site brochure extolling the virtues of its lovely cliff–top location. Sounded good didn't it.

But this was a year that was a true test for us hardy campers. It is remembered for the Force 5 gale that hit during the night forcing the Evans family to make a moon–lit flit. By morning there was a scene of destruction on the camp site as several people had driven their cars over their tents to stop them blowing away. The Hankin family were laughing having opted for a caravan in a less exposed location.
