Tuesday 12th June

For most of us, the lunch time flight time meant there was little time to do much more sight seeing after breakfast. So we hung around the hotel and nearby Jardines Del Turia until it was time to go to the airport.

But Jerry and Fiona had a later flight time, so they went off on some individual safari, never to be seen again.

For most of us, and for a change the transfer to the airport went very smoothly, and it was not long before we were wending our way back to the UK.

The same could not be said for Jerry and Fiona, however, – see below.

Senior Moments Remembered...................Eventually

The Camera Case

When you are busy taking photographs, it is very easy to forget where you put your camera case. And once Joanie and found hers was missing, a full scale search was launched with Brian and Joanie dismantling their room, leaving no blanket unturned in their efforts to find the missing item.

We remembered that in Ljubljana, Fiona had lost a gold necklace, leading to a similar room search and adverse thoughts about the honesty of the staff.

So it should not really have been a surprise, when, as in the Ljubljana case, Joanie eventually remembered that she had left it at home and had not even brought it with her. Panic over.

The Rucksack

Jerry and Fiona have a reputation for always trying to find the cheapest way to get to and from the airport. So it was no surprise when they decided to use the Valencia underground train system to get to the airport.

This might have been reasonably straight forward had Jerry not got off of the train but left his rucksack on it. This was a particular problem because it contained his passport and his plane boarding pass. So panic definitely set in.

But fortune obviously favours the brave, because within only about half an hour of reporting the suspicious rucksack left on the train, the railway staff managed to locate it and return it to him. So he didn't even miss his flight. Lucky boy!
