After a very democratic voting procedure, it was decided to go to Scarborough for this year's extravaganza. This meant it was a bit of a trek for Jerry and Fiona from south of the Thames and, perversely, Chris and Sally who were by the far the closest, couldn't make it.
The Dungroamin Management had suggested meeting on the way up at Nostell Abbey, which provided a suitable journey break point. But the rest of the attendees couldn't wait to get to their Premier Inn accommodation, so went straight to Scarborough.
After arriving at our accommodation, it wasn't long before we gathered in the Tunny Catch pub next door to try out the beer. A memorable feature of this pub was the sticky tables; you had to be careful not to spill your drink when attempting to separate it from the table. We had decided to eat at this pub on this evening, so we had plenty of time to perfect our glass raising technique. Brian and Pete seemed very happy with the wine on offer.
Geraint had surprisingly appeared during the afternoon, however he did not eat with us as he had a date with some mysterious woman he had met on line. All very complicated apparently!
