Monday 5th June

After saying farewells, Pete, Kathy, Brian, Joanie and Geraint started on their journey home. We are not sure if Geraint's included another visit to the clock-tower.

The rest of us decided to do a bit more exploring in Scarborough. We walked from the Premier Inn to the Sea-Life Centre

Here we found that they would not sell us a ticket to get in unless we did it on-line. Has the world gone mad? On principle, we walked out.

We walked around the corner to the North Bay Railway which is of 1/3 scale.

We breached station security by unhooking a bungee cord gving us acess to the platform to wait for the train.

A pleasant trip back took us to the main terminus near to Peasholme Park.

The Park is an unexpected jewel in Scarborough. It has a Japanese theme and each year they stage model sea battles on the lake.

Once there we headed straight for the café for a coffee. Following that we walked around more of the park before returning to the café for lunch.

We watched the sea gulls knocking cups off of tables as they scrumaged for left-overs.

From there it was a short stroll back to the Premier Inn and time to complete this year's Dungroamin experience.

Scarborough turned out to be better than expected.
